Outreach Activity - La Baie

On October 6 and 7, eight officers from the Eastern Region had the opportunity to participate in an outreach weekend in La Baie, Saguenay. This activity had a variety of objectives: to show the local population a facet of the Cadet Program, to hone sailing skills, and to visit and test out the various bodies of water that will be used in Summer 2013.

The Minister of National Defence has unveiled the conclusions and decisions resulting from the Defence Strategic Review. One of those decisions is to close the Sea Cadet Summer Training Centre at Mont-Bénilde in 2013 and transfer some courses to other CSTCs in Eastern Region and others to Ontario and/or Nova Scotia.
