About 746 Lightning Hawk

746 Lightning Hawk Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron serves the Fraser Valley as one of British Columbia's best Air Cadet squadrons. With close to 60 cadets, 7 Canadian Forces Officers, and a complete parent Sponsoring Committee, the squadron offers youth aged 12 to 18 an extremely interactive and beneficial training program centered around aviation, leadership, survival training, range, drill and citizenship.

Our mission is to provide youth with challenging and re-warding life training structured with fun, respect and fulfillment. Our wide range of activities available appeals to all youth, not just those with an interest in aviation. Survival exercises, range, drill, citizenship tours, community support, familiarization flying and first-aid are just a sample of activities offered throughout the training year.

746 Lightning Hawk is a proud associate of: The Township of Langley, The City of Langley, The Langley Municipal Airport,
The Canadian Museum of Flight, The Adopt-A-Street Program, and The Langley and Cloverdale Legions.

Squadron Training Resumes (13 Aug 10)

Squadron training will resume on Thursday, September 3rd, at our new headquarters: The Canadian Museum of Flight (Hangar #3, 5333 216th Street). All cadets should be present at 18:30 hours in Summer Dress (open collar shirt).

Usually the first training night of the year consists of an administration in-routine. This allows cadets a chance to report missing or non-fitting uniform parts, notify the staff of a change of personal information, and meet with the Commanding Officer. It is very important that cadets are in attendance for this night.

Please note that recruits wishing to enroll with the squadron, should not attend this night, but should instead come to our open house which will be held on October 1st. More information to come.

We look forward to seeing you there!

We've Moved! (13 Aug 10)

On the first night of the 2009/2010 training year (Thursday September 3rd) cadets will not report to CFD Aldergrove; instead they will go to the squadron's new facilities at the Canadian Museum of Flight at the Langley Regional Airport.

Due to the 2010 Olympics the use of DND property will be extremely restricted next training year. Therefore the sponsoring committee has partnered with the Canadian Museum of Flight in order to provide the squadron with suitable accommodations within the museum. Not only will the move bring the squadron into central Langley, but it will also enhance the quality of training due to the amount of aviation resources that will be available.

The squadron plans to remain with the museum until the construction of their new building which will be built to accommodate the squadron. This partnership will have many advantages for both groups. The opportunities and programs that will be available to cadets will be explained in the Fall.

You can visit the museum's brand new website here: www.canadianflight.org . If you have any questions or concerns about the new move, please email the squadron at admin.746air@cadets.gc.ca .
