655 Richmond Squadron Band - "Tiger Flight"

655 Squadron’s Band is open to all Cadets. Instruments, if available, are provided. Band Cadets receive their regular Air Cadet training on parade nights, and attend band practice sessions on an
extra night during the week. The band performs on CO’s Inspection nights (the first Parade night of every month), at the Remembrance Day Parade, Salmon Festival Parade on July 1, at Band competitions and at other functions. Those who join will be able to attend weekend clinics and competitions and receive first hand knowledge from experienced instructors. Cadets can also achieve levels that are equivalent to the Royal Conservatory of Music. Music summer camp courses are also available to those interested in the band program. Being a member of the Band requires a lot of time and devotion as Cadets are expected to participate fully in the program.
"Tiger Flight" is a 55 piece brass and reed military marching band. The band is comprised of very hardworking and dedicated cadets. Each cadet is expected to attend all scheduled practices and work on assigned music at home throughout the week. In April of each year, 35-40 cadets are selected from the band to compete in the Lower Mainland Lord Strathcona Trust Cadet Marching Band Display. For 8 years Tiger Flight had been distinguished as the top Military “A” category band and has also been distinguished as the top cadet band in Pacific Region on numerous occasions.
For more information, please call the squadron at (604) 273-1059 and someone will get back to you within the week.
