You will participate in these activities during the weekly meetings and on some weekends. You may also apply to attend a summer camp training course.

What does it cost to join Sea Cadets?There are no registration fees or dues to join the Cadet Program. Upon joining, uniforms and accoutrements are provided free of charge.

Cadets and parents are encouraged to participate in and contribute to fundraising on behalf of the Local Sponsoring Committee and League, to offset costs not covered by the Department of National Defence.

How will Sea Cadets help you at school?

Your schoolwork will benefit from the problem-solving and leadership skills you develop in the Cadet Program. You’ll be more organized, you’ll be better able to focus and you’ll learn to work in a team.

Who joins Sea Cadets?

There are currently about 10,500 Sea Cadets across Canada!

Former cadets include astronaut Marc Garneau and comedian Rick Mercer. Maybe someday we’ll be using your name in our brochure!

Do I have to join the Canadian Forces?

Absolutely not! The Cadet Program is a great way to make friends, find out more about Canada and develop new skills that will be with you for life no matter what career you choose.
